3 Little Laughs

1. Last week during Sacrament Meeting in church CandyBar started whining for some milk.  We offered him the sippy cup of water but he just wouldn't settle. He then picked up his little plastic cow he had been playing with, flipped it upside down and started, "slirp slirp slirp, mmm.... milk. slirp slirp slirp ,mmm... milk." while sucking on the utter with a very silly, satisfied grin on his face. Rat and I were laughing so hard, trying not to make a scene.  The couple behind us was also trying to keep themselves contained.

2. After Sacrament Meeting Rat took CandyBar to his nursery class.  They have a little rocking horse in there that CandyBar immediately jumped on and started riding. After a few seconds Rat said that he stopped, got very serious and yelled, "horsies!" He then ran over to the little playhouse and opened the mailbox where he pulled out his stash of every little toy horse they have in the nursery and looked over at Rat with a greedy little grin.

3. CandyBar almost always has a stinky diaper right after lunch, so I usually will wait around for it to happen before I put him down for his nap. Today I was in the laundry room for about one minute switching out the laundry. I had Texas safe in the Kitchen and CandyBar secure in the living room. CandyBar started saying, "Bum hurt... bum hurt." which is what he says when he needs to be changed. When I got around the corner he was standing at the gate in just his shirt. He had ditched the pants and diaper, and decided to sit on a couple things with his nasty bum. Apparently he learned how to take clothes off today. So I cleaned him up, then put him to bed and Texas played happily while I sanitized the living room. I'm so happy to have an easy baby.

"Surley you can't be serious." "I am and don't call me Shirley." - Airplane

My Dad and his friend Dave went flying today.

Sadly I quit taping, because they circled around and flew over again. CandyBar thought it was amazing that A-Papa was in an airplane.  He climbed onto the fence and watched them until you couldn't see the plane anymore.

So glad when Daddy comes home.

Anyone who says they have only one life to live must not know how to read a book.

This afternoon this little boy "read" stories for over an hour. It was AMAZING!

Baby Jesus

I got out our little Nativity Set I made a few years back. CandyBar loves it.  I am constantly pulling him off the piano in fear he'll break all the pots. He loves the baby "Desus" and carries him around while playing which is just fine because it's made of wood unlike the other people. He has gotten really good at naming all the people and says "Shepert" really really cute!

At our ward Christmas party they asked our family to play Mary, Joseph, baby Jesus, and a Shepherd since we have the youngest baby boy. CandyBar was so excited to wear his "Shepert" outfit. Sadly I didn't take our camera so you'll just have to use your imagination on how cute he was. : )

"He aint heavy, he's my brother" -The Hollies

I know it seems like these boys are always running around in nothing but diapers, but they just are at their happiest and stillest when they've just had a bath.

I was putting CandyBar down for his nap and he started hitting the matress saying "Texas" night night too!"  Those two are really starting to get along really well. Texas is ALWAYS watching CandyBar if he's in the room. CandyBar seems to usually be very concious of Texas, showing him what he's playing with, hugging him, kissing him, asking where he is if he's taking a nap. I have a feeling thses two are going to be the best of friends.

I love this one...

I looked out the window and what did I see

This summer we bought an air popcorn popper at a garage sale. It has been one of the best dollar investments we've made. Almost every day it has become our easy after naptime snack. SO TASTY!

BasketBall

Uncle Johnny had a game here in town so we all went to Cheer him on.

We had a lot of fun and they almost won. It was a really close game, the best kind to watch in my opinion.
After CandyBar had almost had enough of sitting still in one place Rat got a little bag of popcorn which lasted forever!  CandyBar happily ate it on Grandpa's lap while Texas went in and out of sleep and was such a wonderful baby.
We had one tired little man by the time we made it home.

2 Months

Texas had his 2 month checkup. The day started at 6:15 we got the kids ready and jumped in the car.  We went to Rat's office first. He wanted to show everyone Texas, since they hadn't  seen him yet. CandyBar was a super grouch and wouldn't let anyone close to him, he's used to sleeping in till 8 or 9 so I guess I can't blame him. After everyone got there oo's and ahhs out we left Rat and headed to WalMart until Texas' appointment.
That went really well; Texas slept the whole time and CandyBar had a little plastic horse to keep him occupied. We had some pictures to drop off so we did that and got a few groceries and a Christmas present for Daddy.
Then we headed to the Dr office.  I had taken the stroller because I was a little nervous about trying to keep CandyBar close with Texas in my arms. It turned out really well though. They have a tv in the waiting room that had The Rescuers Down Under playing so CandyBar was mesmerised and sat in his stroller perfectly still.  We didn't have to wait very long, just long enough to feed Texas and get a good burp so that helped too.
Back in the room they checked Texas over and CandyBar looked at all the kids books they had stashed in there.

She declared Texas healthy. He's 16 lbs and 26" long putting him in the 99th percentile in both. CandyBar was always right around the 75th so Texas is quite a bit bigger. She said he's the size of an average 6 month old, which I believe since he's wearing 6 - 9 month clothes.
After she finished with Texas I asked her if she would mind looking CandyBar over. He had a really pink goopy eye. I sat him up on my lap and she started looking at things. I quickly realized my leg was getting soaked. She said it was an eye infection and went to pull his chart. While she was out I realized there was a little puddle of wet on the floor next to us. CandyBar's pants were soaked. I stripped him down and his diaper was mostly dry, he must have wet out the side of it onto the floor. Not expecting him to have diaper problems I didn't have anything else to put him in. I had plenty for Texas, but oh well. So CandyBar spent the remainder of our time there in a diaper, shoes and coat. We got everything cleaned up with the help of the nurse and they came in to give Texas his shots. Poor little guy. Afterwords they came in with a bunch of stickers and guess what CandyBar picked out?
Who would have thought? We loaded into the car and went back to WalMart to get our pictures and CandyBar a pair of pants. I felt like such a trashy mom with my little boy in the basket with no pants on. It didn't really help that it was like 30 degrees outside.
After CandyBar was fully clothed we went back to the office to pick up Rat, did a few more errands there in town and went home.
As soon as we got home CandyBar grabbed his stuffed hose and rode around the house while Texas kicked on the floor and we made lunch. That boy sure loves his horses!
 Like his new pants?

 I love this one...
It looks like he really thinks his Mom is awesome but what he is really doing is pointing to himself and saying "I'm Jim" which he does quite often. He's referring to Jim on "The Man from Snowy River"
His all time favorite movie right now.

Cutie Pie

Cutie Pie came to play again. They had so much fun together.

She and CandyBar took the couch apart and made a "race track." She rode his bike and he rode his horse.

They ran back and forth and back and forth. Then they both took a great nap!

O' Christmas Tree

The first weekend after Thanksgiving we pulled the tree down from the attic.

CandyBar had just gotten out of the tub, thats not his normal wardrobe. He was super curious about what was going on and wanted to help in any way he could. He kept saying "Hewp Wo?"

Once he got some clothes on and Daddy got the lights in place we stuck the ornaments on.  CandyBar really liked this part. We have a ring around our tree at his level with all the durable ornaments on it. Last year Rat had the brilliant idea of putting the tree behind the couch so almost 1 year old CandyBar couldn't get to it.  It worked great then and is working wonderfully again.

Texas looked on from his pearch on the other couch.
