Rat had to take his OAT test in Spfld that morning so we spent the day with my parents. Before we left the house though we let CandyBar open these boots. About a month ago he started talking about "Dough Boys" all the time. We weren't really sure what he was referring to so just kinda would smile and nod when he brought it up. A couple weeks ago I was at a thrift store here in town looking for jeans for CandyBar and as we were leaving he saw these boots on a counter and started yelling, "Mommy... DOUGHBOY BOOTS!" over and over. They looked about right so I put them on his feet and they fit. They have zippers on the side so his fat feet actually will go in. For $2 I figured that was a score! He was so excited about them and talked about them all the way home. That night after we pried them off his feet to put jammies on we hid them until his birthday. Pretty much every day since, the first thing he has done when he wakes up is look for his dough boy boots. Under the couch usually. Saying, "dough boy boots warayou"
We had tons of fun with everyone.
Aunt Kayla has doughboy boots too!
Uncle Dallie
CandyBar found a "doughboy hat" too. (its actually a safari hat, but not to CandyBar)
Towards the end of the day this became his uniform. Helmet, glowstick and boots.
Uncle Fred and his girlfriend Britt had some fun with Texas.
Then it was time for the festivites. We had CandyBar's favorite soup and roast for dinner.
He looks so much like my cousin Jamie to me in this picture.
Texas wasn't so sure about our hats.
A-papa, Brit, Kayla, Dallie, Candybar, Rat
Im pretty sure this wasn't posed, just happened.
Uncle Fred taught CandyBar to say "I'm the Man." Thats what he's doing in this picture.
It was all super yummy!
Then we had yummy "Happy Cups" (so lovingly called by cousin James)
I'm pretty sure CandyBar was more excited about the horsies in the happy cups, than the tasty cups themselves
...that is until he started eating.
Then he decided to open all his presents with his teeth... we're not quite sure where that came from but it was sure funny to watch!
After the festivities we went "Swimming" in Apapa's "Pool" This is something CandyBar usually asks about doing at least once a week. He loves it!
It was a super fun day, (and to top it off Rat scored 20 points higher than last time on his test getting a perfect score in the writing section! :)
We are so happy to have CandyBar in our family! Happy Birthday sweet silly crazy boy!
