We've had wheat growing in our field this winter and it's just about ready to harvest.
Right now it's in the dough stage, so the wheat kernels are nice and soft.
Anytime we're outside Heath always asks, "Candy in wheat please?" then runs over to the field and starts picking out wheat to chew on.
I think it's funny that he calls it candy, but hey the boy knows good stuff when he eats it.
There was a tree here before the tornado, but now it's Heaths wheat stump.
It's been pretty neat for him to learn where bread comes from. He knows a lot more about that process than I did even at a much older age. He doesn't so much like the grinding of the wheat part mostly because our grinder is so loud, but he loves to help mix up the dough, mostly because of the pieces I give him to taste. : )
